Overview

This case study highlights the process, communication, and analytics frameworks I built to strengthen product delivery for Vantage DX. From establishing a predictable release cadence to creating functional and technical training sessions, to implementing Pendo product analytics from scratch, I developed systems that improved alignment, visibility, and data-informed decisions across the organization.

My contribution

As the Senior Product Designer and Product Owner, I built cross-functional release processes, created organization-wide functional and technical training programs, and implemented Pendo product analytics to help the team make informed decisions, validate assumptions, and improve adoption across Vantage DX.

Process

Bringing clarity to releases through systems and process

Vantage DX lacked a predictable release rhythm and a clear way for stakeholders to understand what was shipping, when it was coming, and who it impacted. To solve this, I partnered with my PLM manager to define a release cadence, create a three-week sprint-based release cycle, and map the involvement of every department.

I designed a Jira-based release dashboard that displayed only the information stakeholders needed: upcoming release content, affected customers, targeted product component, deployment forecasts, and release status. This dashboard became the single source of truth for R&D managers, DevOps, support, documentation, marketing, and delivery engineering.

By simplifying the signal-to-noise of Jira, the release process became more transparent, predictable, and collaborative.

Designing functional and technical training that aligned the entire organization

After every release, my PLM manager and I led functional and technical training sessions for the organization. We prepared the presentation content, aligned R&D contributors, demoed new features, explained the “why” behind each improvement, and ensured downstream teams understood exactly what was changing.

These sessions were interactive and always themed to make them memorable and engaging (yes, Christmas and Halloween were hits). We recorded and posted each training as an ongoing reference for teams who needed clarity on release content or feature rationale.

This dramatically reduced confusion, misalignment, and support escalations.

Implementing Pendo analytics to bring data into product decisions

We needed real product insights to understand user behavior, feature adoption, and navigation patterns. I researched multiple analytics tools, analyzed pros and cons, and selected Pendo as the best fit for our product and data needs.

After the purchase, I took ownership of the implementation: re-tagging all core HTML elements, mapping pages and features, and building reports that revealed actionable insights.

Through Pendo, we learned that:

  • many users weren’t aware of certain available features

  • adoption patterns differed from expected workflows

  • drilldowns in dashboards were underused

  • users relied heavily on the left navigation instead of contextual exploration

These findings challenged assumptions and helped us rethink how we communicated value, structured workflows, and approached future design improvements.

Why this work mattered

These systems didn’t just improve operations. They helped design, engineering, and product teams build better, more intentional experiences. Release processes created clarity, training ensured alignment, and analytics helped validate real user behavior.

Together, these initiatives elevated how Vantage DX shipped new features, onboarded customers, and designed its future roadmap.

Outcome

These initiatives established a clear release rhythm, improved cross-functional communication, and introduced data-driven decision-making into the Vantage DX ecosystem. Stakeholders gained visibility into upcoming releases, teams aligned more easily, and Pendo insights revealed key gaps in feature awareness and user behavior. Together, these efforts strengthened the product’s delivery process and informed smarter, more intentional design and product decisions.
